    Hello,

Many thanks for the great support from this forum! I have a question about pediatric brain templates because currently I am working on the pediatric subjects. Just wonder if it will be proper to just use the brain templates derived from adults for linear or non-linear normalization. I saw some pictures of FA colormap from pediatric brains under Research->Human->Database on the DTIStudio website. Is there any pediatric atlas under construction? Thanks again!

Because the brain changes in both volume and intensities are subtle after 24 months, it is OK to work with adult templates after 2 years-old (see Neuroimage, 2010, 52(2):415-28). For neonates (between 37 and 41 gestational weeks) some templates are available in this website (see "neonate brain template" , "atlas" subsection). The problem occurs between 41 weeks and 2 years old, when both volume and intensities largely change. For this age range, we still do not have specific templates.

    Hi Andreia,

Thank you very much for your detailed reply! All of our healthy children are more than 6 years old. It seems we should be fine according to that Neuroimage paper. Have a nice weekend!
